Coming up…A Podcast Chat
Behind The Curtain
In April I will be chatting with Ethan Arnold about working on Only Fools and Horses back in 1984, and what happened next… I’ll keep you posted on the date the podcast will be available on YouTube…
ABOUT THE PODCAST: “Behind The Curtain is all about diving into the real stories behind the music and pop culture you love. Whether it’s chatting with artists, producers/DJ’s, people behind the scenes in the music business, TV stars, athletes, this podcast gives you a sneak peek behind the curtain. It’s like hanging out with your favorite people and hearing the stuff they don’t usually share!”

April 2026… Dioramas on Display…
See my artwork at Chris Kitch cafe
I’m thrilled to have a collection of my pieces on display at a local cafe, Chris Kitch in Muswell Hill. Pop along to have a look at the mini dioramas - which are much better in person than in photographs. Chris Kitch is a hidden gem in Muswell Hill, with delicious salads and a very decent coffee.
All the work on display is for sale; money raised will go towards financing my short film. The full collection can be seen here

Script Shortlisted:

10 Minute Film Script
Watch This Space…
Work in Progress…
My 10 minute short film script Jacintha Said What? was commissioned during lockdown, as part of MONOMENTAL, a series of monologues around the theme of mental health, Jacintha Said What? features Hilary, a likeable but complex doctors’ receptionist who has aspirations to greater things; a small collection of tortoises; and an attraction to lilac coats.
The script was shortlised by the UK Film Festival (making it into the top 50 scripts out of hundreds of entries) - and those who have read it, really like it, so I think it should be made. I have a lovely actress (a national treasure really) on ‘hold’ to star as Hilary, and I started the new year with several meetings with two female director/producers, from which a rough budget was created - which is a bit eye-watering. All I need to do now is raise the funds…

August 2025… A Fab Festival
Mugs Like Us included in the fourth Union Shorts festival of short plays
Hosted by Off Main Stage, a ten-minute excerpt of my play Mugs Like Us: Dorothy Slatter was selected for Union Shorts #4 - a fun night of excerpts and/or short plays from eight different playwrights. The event - a show-case for emerging directors and actors - was held at the bijou Union Theatre, London.
“It’s fantastic to watch these nuggets of amazing plays - as you see just how much talent is out there…”[Cameron Corcoran, Off Main Stage founder]
Brilliant actress Isabella Northrup (see photograph; on my right) played Dorothy, expertly directed by Georgia Scott (see photograph; on my left); and audiences seemed to really love it. Isabella Northrup and Georgia Scott are ‘ones to watch’….

November 2024… Work Trip to New York
Broken Water helps launch Little Engine Theater
In autumn 2025 I received an email out of the blue which read as follows:
“My mother saw [Broken Water] a few months ago at the Arcola Theatre and thought the writing was exquisite. She spoke about it with such emotion (which is rare) that I have been reading anything I can find on the play and feel incredibly drawn to it.”
It’s always nice to receive positive feedback, especially when it leads to a work trip to the Big Apple. So I was delighted when some scenes from Broken Water were chosen by co-founders Lilly Englert, Elena Rusconi and Theodora Miranne to be part of the launch of their new theatre production company, Little Engine Theater (inspired by the book The Little Engine That Could whose protagonist famously chants “…I think I can, I think I can…”)
The event was held at the glitzy Four Seasons Residences in Manhattan - and was a glamorous night of networking, canapés and champagne. Broadway director Michael Herwitz directed the rehearsed reading, and it was fantastic to watch my words read - with American accents - by Annie Funke (Criminal Minds), Carolyn McCormick (The Good Fight) and Caitlin O’Connell (Law and Order). Best of luck to all at Little Engine Theatre…I know you can…
